Private Home Wine Dinner

When Brick Lane Catering was invited to caterfor some of our clients closest friends for a private home wine dinner in downtown Charleston, we jumped at the opportunity. It is always a honor when we are invited into someone’s home to cook for them. This group of friends have been getting together for 15 years to taste great wine, enjoy wonderful company and eat an amazing meal. Each year they all bring a different wine, have a blind tasting and then rate which wine is the best. Because it is blind, sometimes they would rate their own wine as the worst! This year our client wanted to offer something different than the normal sit down served dinner so we decided to play off of the “progressive dinner” idea. We created a menu consisting of Small Plate Stations and placed each station in a different room in their beautiful historic home. Every station waspaired with one of the wines that were brought by the guests. The theme was Spanish Wines so Charlie, created a Spanish themed menu to compliment.

Each guest had a clipboard with a “rating” sheet attached. They would go to each station to taste both the food and the wine, take notes and then at the end go back and rate their favorite pairing. During wedding season, it was nice to switch it up for the evening and do something more intimate. One of Charlie’s favorite things to do as a Chef is to get creative with his dishes and offer our clients amazing, creative and out of the box dishes. It was such a fun evening with some of our favorite clients and their guests were impressed with the creative concept, menu items and wine! Here are a few pictures of some of the dishes:
